Who comes on a Vuelta cycling trip?

Anyone who loves road cycling and appreciates great roads and beautiful scenery. Vuelta riders tend to be regular cyclists, able to take on fairly challenging climbs, and with a desire to enjoy the rewards at the end of hard day in the saddle.

How fit do I need to be?

All our Vueltas are physically demanding and you'll need to train, but some are harder than others. Our guides, pros and mechanics will support every rider to go beyond their usual level of riding. Each individual trip is rated for difficulty, and each trip page gives rough guidelines on who the trip is for, to help you decide if it’s right for you. If you're not sure, give us a call and we'll talk you through it and give you an idea of how much training you'll need to do.

How will I be supported on the road?

When riding you will always have at least one ride guide on the road with the group. There will also be a mechanic with a full tool kit and spare parts not far away – usually in a support car behind the group. Your guides and mechanics will provide you ride food and drink, as well as local knowledge, first aid, and encouragement. On days when we have a pro along they will be available for training and technique advice as well as some insight into the world of the professional rider.  We'll do everything we can to keep you and your bike on the road but, if for any reason you can’t make it to the end, they’ll always make sure there’s a seat in a vehicle so you get safely home.

Will we have to ride as a group?

We like to give you the freedom to ride at your own pace, with whoever you like. Groups will typically be 6-12, meaning you'll usually find someone who wants to ride at your pace. You'll have a GPX file with the route and the support vehicle will always be on hand, so there's no chance of getting lost. There will be a short briefing each morning when we suggest places to stop, and your route will also have stops marked. Most people team up in small groups riding at the same pace.

What's the accommodation like?

We think lots of comfort and a bit of luxury goes a long way after a hard day in the saddle. All of our accommodation is a minimum of 4* with a pool and spa and has been carefully chosen to give you the best possible experience. You'll see some details of the accommodation in the Vuelta overview; if you'd like more details, please let us know.

Yes, all the Vueltas are available to private groups and we can always tailor them to specific requirements. If you'd like to ride in another region of Spain, we love creating Vueltas and will work with you to design the own bespoke Vuelta.

Can I book a private Vuelta?

Yes we do, we love group bookings and will always offer a discount. Please let us know the size of your group and the Vuelta you're interested in and we'll put together a group package.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we offer special packages for partners/friends to join the trip. Our hotels all have pools and spa and are typically located  in beautiful Spanish towns with plenty to do while we're out riding. The supplement includes accommodation, transfers and breakfast on all days.

Can I bring a non-riding friend?

When do I have to pay?

A deposit of £400 is payable on booking, to reserve your place. The balance is payable 8 weeks before the start of your Vuelta.

Can you help with my training?

The briefing pack that you receive when you book contains training tips and we're always more than happy to give you additional advice - just give us a call. If you'd like a bespoke training programme, we have a specialist cycling training partner who will create your own personal programme; please give us a call if you'd like to find out more about this.

We do reserve the right to cancel a specific Vuelta; in the unlikely event that do, we'll give you a minimum of 4 weeks' notice, reimburse you fully and offer you a £150 discount on any future Vuelta.

Is my Vuelta guaranteed?

Yes, we have specialist local suppliers in each location, all providing a range of bikes, including high-end models. The spec of the bikes available in each location varies; please ask if you're interested in renting and we'll provide details of the options available.

Can I rent a bike?

We make sure you're always entertained while giving you lots of freedom to do your own thing if that's what you want. We'll book (and pay for) dinner and drinks on the first and last nights and on the other nights we'll recommend places to eat and drink . All of our hotels have a pool and spa and we'll make sure there's a masseur on hand for tired legs. We always try to organise one or two surprises for you too...

What extra-curricular activities will be available?

When you book, we'll provide a briefing pack with full details of the kit you'll need to bring.
